John McCain has for years been one of a few in "that party"G for whom I
had real respect ... Colin Powell being another example. Both examples given have lost much of my respect because they showed themselves more patriotic ( from my view, of course ) towards their party than towards their country over the last 7+ years, choosing to support Bush in policies that were bad for this nation ... while knowing they were bad policies. But, McCain taking that microphone from the silly lady calling Obama an Arab regained a bit of respect from me. I felt watching him that McCain found some regained self-respect stepping away from proven party nasty tactics, too. He deserves credit, where credit is due. Hopefully, he'll continue to remember who he's always tried to be ... a decent man |
