Just plopped down $54 for a California license and my 'local water' reopens
tomorrow. I went down and took a look, baetis hatching ( no rises, however) and nice low water conditions with decent clarity. I'll start the New Year fishing wet flies a couple miles from here, should be pretty decent ( if cold, foggy and damp ). Right after the first of the year is the best time on the various CA valley trout streams since they are managed as irrigation canals that happen to contain fish. After irrigation season starts the flows are too high for reasonable FFing. Larry L ( Who doesn't begrudge Arnold the $54 but who wishes he received as much value from his Ca license as from the others he buys ) |
