Default Old fly lines

I have several fly lines(scientific anglers brand) which I have not used for
about 15 years. Some are on spare reel spools and several are loosely
coiled. They have been kept in a dry warm temperature area. Are they worth
keeping? If so is there any particular type of care they should be given?

Thanks,

Bob

Bob, Unspool the lines and inspect them. I f they are not cracked, and
appear to still be flexible, they should be fine. Clean them with warm
water and mild detergent, let them dry completely, and dress them with
one of the brand name dressings. If you are not going to use them
soon, store them off the reels in loose coils. I have had an Orvis
sinking line that I rarely use for over 30 years, and a Cortland 7 wt
floater that sees little use for about 10, and they are still good.
