Oh Condescending One? You there? This is your uneducated,
liar, idiot, pig, moron, ignoramus almost friend here with something to exercise your knees with while you wait out the blizzard. What I am about to say will make your knees jerk really hard. So move them away from anything that is sharp, blunt or just plane hard. Here goes: the "Nazis" were leftists and socialists. "Brown on the outside, red on the inside" Wait it, wait for it, we are waiting on the limitation of the speed of sound here, wait for it ... [muffled thudding sound] Oh My! That must have hurt! Goodness, that was a really bad word. Uh oh, another one: I'm going to have to look that one up. Next time listen to me! That the Nazi's are called rightest is a propagandists slight of hand. You will like this one from Joseph Goebbels http://www.calvin.edu/academic/cas/gpa/haken32.htm The worker in a capitalist state — and that is his deepest misfortune — is no longer a living human being, a creator, a maker. He has become a machine. A number, a cog in the machine without sense or understanding. And some more Goebbels drivel from the same source: Why Are We Socialists? We are socialists because we see in socialism, that is the union of all citizens, the only chance to maintain our racial inheritance and to regain our political freedom and renew our German state. Socialism is the doctrine of liberation for the working class. It promotes the rise of the fourth class and its incorporation in the political organism of our Fatherland, and is inextricably bound to breaking the present slavery and regaining German freedom. Socialism, therefore, is not merely a matter of the oppressed class, but a matter for everyone, for freeing the German people from slavery is the goal of contemporary policy. Socialism gains its true form only through a total fighting brotherhood with the forward-striving energies of a newly awakened nationalism. Without nationalism it is nothing, a phantom, a mere theory, a castle in the sky, a book. With it it is everything, the future, freedom, the fatherland! And he drivels on and on and on. Real believer in freedom and free enterprise there. Here are some fun quotes for you: http://www.lawrence.edu/sorg/objectivism/socfasc.html It is true that the Nazis and socialists were rivals for power in Weimar Germany. On account of their similar political ideologies, however, this rivalry collapsed in the face of the defeat of their common enemy: capitalism. Forgive me for "quoting Ayn Rand", but the following is a matter of historical fact: ...in the German election of 1933, the Communist Party was ordered by its leaders to vote for the Nazis -- with the explanation that they could later fight the Nazis for power, but first they had to help destroy their common enemy: capitalism and its parliamentary form of government ("'Extremism,' or The Art of Smearing", September 1964, in Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal, pg. 180). Dr. Leonard Peikoff reaffirms this point in his book, The Ominous Parallels: The communists, too, wanted to use Hitler. Time after time their deputies voted with the Nazis in the Reichstag; they voted against legislation designed to cope with emergencies, against measures designed to curb violence, against attempts to maintain in office any kind of stable government. The Communists even agreed to cooperate with Nazi thugs. In November 1932, for instance, the two mortal enemies could be observed standing comfortably, shoulder to shoulder, on the streets of Berlin, collecting money to support a violent strike by the city's transportation workers. When Hitler's fortunes seemed to be faltering for a time in 1932, a stream of anxious Nazis poured into the ranks of the Communists; the Germans watching said that a Nazi is like beefsteak: brown on the outside, red on the inside. Soon, however, the traffic was in the opposite direction. "[T]here is more that binds us to Bolshevism than separates us from it," said Hitler to Rauschning. "There is, above all, genuine revolutionary feeling, which is alive everywhere in Russia except where there are Jewish Marxists. I have always made allowance for this circumstance, and given orders that former Communists are to be admitted to the party at once. The petit bourgeois Social-Democrat and the trade-union boss will never make a National Socialist, but the Communist always will" (Quoting from Rauschning's The Voice of Destruction, pg. 131) (Peikoff, 221). Peikoff continues: In the final months the Communists viewed the growing Nazi strength with equanimity. The triumph of Nazism, they said, has been ordained by the dialectic process; such triumph will lead to the destruction of the republican form of government, which is a necessary stage in the achievement of communism. Afterward, they said, the Nazis will quickly fade and the party of Lenin can take over (222). Here is some more reading, if you get board: http://www.google.com/search?q=nazis+as+leftists To restate: that the Nazi's are called rightest is a propagandists slight of hand. Goebbels kind of let the cat out of the bag. Conservative and right wing: limited government, free enterprise Liberal and left wing: large intrusive government, socialism Fascist: large intrusive dictatorial government, socialism Yup. Them Nazis were real right wingers! Any relation to what they believed (except the Final Solution) and any current left wing movement in the States in purely coincidental. Hmmm what kind of cars can I drive, what kind of washing machines can I purchase, what kind of light bulbs can I use, what kind of medical coverage can I buy? Yup, purely coincidental. Hope your knee heals up soon. t. |
