My name is Joe Bell and for a school project I am making a business plan for
a fly-in fishing lodge in Northern Saskatchewan. Information gathered from this survey will help me in setting up my business to best meet the needs of potential customers. The information will be destroyed once the data is analyzed. Your time and effort in completing this survey would be greatly appreciated. ![]() "Joe" wrote in message ... To 'a-happy-up-yours', I know market researchers are annoying and will try everything to get a survey filled out. I actually am a student at the University of Saskatchewan and my professor wants me to get 100 surveys filled out for my business plan. I do not know 100 people from the United States who are interested in fishing, so I thought I would post for help on some newsgroups. If this offended you, I am sorry.. I am not a specialist on newsgroup etiquette. Joe Bell Well, Joe: one piece of etiquette is to not cross-post personal or specific replies after the initial barrage across the bows. For the record, I filled in your survey, and its quite unobtrusive. Don't really like the 'how much do you earn' question; I'd suggest "how much of your disposable income do you allocate for fly fishing" instead. Also, you're missing about half the States, including mine. Not good for a University student, I'd say. And what about those folks who go on fishing expeditions more than twice a year? There's no selection for that, and I'd think that those folks were your primary market. Anyway, good luck; so far I'd give you a C- for content, and a C for effort. And whats with the hot tub question?? What about a fly shop, a bar, library of resources, game drives, available women? --riverman |

As for inclusive pricing, if meals at a fly-in are *not* included, what's the alternative? How can any answer here indicate anything meaningful. This "survey" is poorly contrived and has a bias toward the conclusion. It's *exactly* the kind of crap that collects useless information and touts it as the result of a scientific process from which business decisions can be made. If you must persist in this manner of "research", then learn how to logically structure your inquiry tree, think through the process and remove the biases. Also note that your professor's suggestion of an "N" of 100 is a very small sample, particularly if a "business plan" will be based on the outcome. FLUSH................. Tom |

Tom Hey, take it easy on him, there, Tom. He's at a Canadian university after all. That N of 100 represents about a 40% sample space. --riverman |
