Default NE Wrasse?

Any ideas where I might catch Wrasse, say Hartlepool to Scarborough from the
shore? Just come back from my hols in Weymouth and had great fun catching
them from Redcliff Point and Portland. Is crab the killer bait in my area
for these scrappers?

TIA,
Paul

Hi Paul,
I have caught Ballan Wrasse near Cloughton just up from Scarborough.
Better still, the coastline of the Isle of Man is teeming with them up
to around 6lb. I would think you would catch more in the Irish Sea as
they prefer the warmer water to the North Sea. They will take Lug and
Rag worm, peeler crab, mussel and even limpets.

We had them off the harbour wall at Tenby last week on Ragworm.Really easy
and bites every couple of minutes. They tend to dash from cover and take bait
then dash back again - hit and run tactics!!!!!!
