Well, even a poor man gets a break now and then. I just purchased a used
10' plastic puddle jumper so I can get off the banks. It's seen some use, so I'll have to give it a little TLC, but it came with a trolling motor, 2 deep cycle batteries, casting deck, trailer, fish finder and a live well, so I hope to have more chances to put my ROFB education to use this year. Never used a finder before, (it's an Eagle Cuda 168) so my guess is my first couple of trips will be a lot more learning than fishing. |

Hey Henry,
Eagle has emulators now so you can download a simulator of fishfinders and learn on them. They don't have one for the Cuda 168 but maybe the Cuda 240 would be similar? At least this way you can get a feel for it when you are stuck at home and save the valuable lake time for catching the big one! The url is http://www.eaglegps.com/Downloads/Emulators/default.htm I tried out the 240, but got frustrated cause it couldn't find any fish under my desk....hehehe. Have fun getting off the banks! Hey Henry
Check the charge on those batteries now so you arent surprised on your first fishing trip. Need to keep them topped up, especially over the winter months. Look on the Lowrance site for the tutorials....some good instruction on fish finders there Best luck to you Steve "Henry Hefner" wrote in message ... Well, even a poor man gets a break now and then. Baitgal,
I agree! I grew up in Iowa and we had a lot of back water ponds and sloughs off of the river. In May, when the Sugar Maple seeds would land on the water, the carp would cruise near the surface inhaling them. I used to tie a big yellow popping bug on my fly rod and cast to the cruisers who would inhale it without any hesitance. Talk about fun!!! Iowa bonefish. -- Mike "Baitgal" wrote in message . ..
