Default New Old Boat

Went by a friends today to pick up an old tin boat he wanted to give away. I now start a project that sould take about 6 - 12
months (on my budget). The boat is 14 foot v hull that is 58 inches wide. I loade the monster on the trailer for my 12 footer
(going to have to modify the trailer) then he hands me this BIG box labeled "Boat Stuff" When I get home I open it up and inside
is a bilge pump, live well pump, through the hull fittings (I was wondering about those holes drilled through the hull) tubing,
mounting brackets, running lights, and a wiring harness. I asked Duke what he wanted for all this stuff and he said he had just
been operated on for colon cancer for the secound time in four years and that he's been watching me pull my 12 footer past his house
four or five times a week and that I need a bigger boat that is more stable to take him fishing. Go figgure. It's nice to see
anouther kind hearted person. Remember, What goes around comes around. Doc

Why not post a list of things you might need? Who knows, some of us have
extra parts in the garage.

Doc--

Great! You will be pleasantly surprised at the increased stability of
the new boat. Keep us posted about the project--and link us to some
photos.

That is so cool. Mostly I am light hearted to see that you seem to really
appreciate the gift. Over the years I have given away a lot of stuff,
loaned people money when they needed it, and many people never seemed to
appreciate it. In what hurts more than anything is when you give somebody
something and all they see is the dollar signs. I am glad that you seem to
appreciate the spirit of the gift. You have moved up as far in my personal
estimations of people as a person I have not met possibly can. Doc, you are
welcome in my boat anytime, even if I have to take a day off work.

Doc

Congrats on the new boat. Send me a pic or two as you go along - would
like to see what you do to it. Might give me some ideas.

What's the story Doc. Retired? Were you a doctor, or a medic?
