Default Traditional Angler

I've found some stuff I'm interested in, at a fairly good price, on the
web site for Traditional Angler, in Centennial CO, but I've never dealt
with them, or even heard of them before. Anyone here have any experience
with buying from these folks?

Hi JR,
Just had a strange conversation with a "Bob" of this place.
Not a storefront yet. I mentioned your inquiry, and since I hadn't heard of
them, got the number from 411. It wasn't in my phone books.
Told him who I was, and had been in the fly manufacturing stuff a bit ago,
and asked him to tell me something about his business, because some one on a
fly fishing group was interested. I asked about products, retail or
wholesale, and that kind of stuff. He immediately got concerned that I was
asking about private things. I reassured him I was only asking for someone
who wanted to know more about the source, and who was interested in buying
something. He started replying that he was not sure of the relevance of the
call. I told him it was an inquiry from a newsgroup on the internet, and
I just wanted to help out the inquirer. I asked about a web address, if
any, and he mumbled it back at me, but I found it through google anyhow.
I'm not sure if I got this guy out of bed, or what, it was just before 10:00
AM Denver time.
Based on a few minute discussion about what he wouldn't tell me . . . heck
I'm as interested in deals as anyone . . .
WARNING . . . went up for me . . .but I'm slow. Other opinions may appear
from Denver folks . . .but I will never buy anything from this guy. . . and
I was a potential customer, just as you.
I suspect he may have had other thoughts about my attentions, but I told
him I'd give my name and address to him to see if I am who I thunk I am.
Didn't work. He was back into the purpose of the discussion. Explained it
again. Wasn't going further so I ended the conversation and said I would
post it here, telling him it would go to a lot of folks, and I was just
trying to help one guy. He said okay.
Didn't seem concerned. He must be making a lot of money. (I still kinda
think he was just getting out of bed or something, because I can't really
believe a retailer would diss me so casually)
But I'm kinda dense when people aren't courteous.
BestWishes,
DaveMohnsen
(still can't believe people wouldn't want to talk about selling their stuff)

Interesting. Their site has a professional look to it, and they give
their names and a physical street address on the "Contact Us" page, so I
wasn't so worried that they either weren't a real business or were a
fly-by-night gyppo outfit. Only wanted to know if folks had found them
speedy, reliable, etc. Maybe they don't get many calls other than to
place orders and you simply threw the guy for a loop....

Thanks.
