Default Looking for a New Reel

Looking to buy a new baitcaster and was looking at the following.

Pflueger President, opinions? I already have curados and scorpions, but this
looks like a decent reel for 125.00 delivered and I would like to try
something new but not if It is going to give me problems. I can easily get
another curado for a bit less$100.00 delivered. Keep in mind I only need a
left handed retrieve reel.

Randy,

I have a Purist, and a BPS Extreme (which is made by Pflueger) and they
are both nice reels, but they are brand new and have not been field
tested. I have 8 curados, all between 2 & 4 years old. They are all
still very solid, and with a little tlc will probably last another 2 to
4 years.
Also, I am starting to read things about Shakespeares service and that
is starting to worry me a bit. I am waiting to hear back from the
Shakespeare rep from this area on the situation about the All-Star
warranty and if you get the same treatment for Pflueger.

I have heard the Team Daiwa reels are nice. Other than that I can only
give you opinions on Curados, because that is all I use. I have a buddy
who uses nothing but Accurits (Quantum) and he loves em.

Just what in the world is a "Pflueger President"? From the previous thread
about Pflueger and Shakespeare, remember that they claim their names are
over 100 years old. Whoopee! Big deal! What does that load of crap mean,
anyway? My name, Bob, is even a whole lot older than theirs, but who cares?
The current Pflueger & Shakespeare are companies that have absolutely
nothing to do with the original Shakespeare and Pflueger, any more than I
had to do with some guy named Bob who lived 150 years ago. They simply
bought those names, the same way some low class fish food company would buy
a carload of rotten fish. Informed people should keep in mind that if their
products were really that good they would be standing on their own names &
reputations, instead of trying to hide behind someone else's. Get real,
folks... calling myself Brad Pitt won't make me pretty, regardless how loud
I scream it.
