aqua vu multi-color lights scare fish???

I've been researching the aqua-vu underwater cameras and heard that
the multi-colored lights will scare the fish. Does anyone have any
experience with this? Is this true?

The multi-color light have a further viewing range than the infrared
lights, but if they scare the fish, maybe the IR lights are the better
way to go... I presume the IR lights aren't bright.

I wonder if this "scare the fish" theory would apply while trolling?

lights.

That's a bit misleading, as it only applies to gin clear water. The
infrared system is much better if the visibility is limited by murkiness.

Mark, I have the Atlantis UWC and I have noticed on the odd occasion that
Walleye will stop swimming and slowly direct their motion to the bottom.
This could be coincidental as both times this has occurred a muskie has been
in the area. Walleye laying on the bottom are easily missed when they can
use their color as a camo of their surrounds. The tell tail reflection of
the cameras light "enhance vision" reveals them by light bouncing from their
retinas or lens membrane. That being said other fish swarm the camera. The
fish finder shows the depths of 'gills at the same depth as a "band"
almost where ever I go on the lake +/- a couple of feet and sure enough they
swarm the camera and even bump into it. Have seen some unexplainable things
go by that are too close for the camera to focus on. I have not experienced
the light frightening fish and I have tried it a few times just to see. But
that is the B&W Atlantis system. If this is any help?

I'll likely use the aqua-vu with the downrigger kit while trolling. I
suppose the lites are switchable on or off, depending on the
conditions.
