Well, which one is that, Sparky? I mean, hell, if one bad apple spoils
the barrel, why don't you just shoot this one and everybody can go their
merry way?

Sparky? who really talks like that? sheesh...

Don't get out much, huh?

If you want to start shooting someone, I vote you start with people that
illegally plant Pike and Walleye in trout waters.

And who would that be, Festus?

Well.....gosh.....when you put it that way, they sound almost human.

True, true.......the pickanninies are just SO ADORABLE!

Ahhh, the race card... nice.

Who's favored in the third?

I make a comment on political and economic practices I've experienced with
a few Native Americans, and you pull out the race card.

You don't pay much attention to what you say, do you? You'll get along just
fine here.........very few others will pay attention either.

What's the matter, did I brush up against some cherished myth of yours?

Dozens of them. You'll pay for this.

Here's a question, What politico/economic corporation has done the most to
restore wildlife since the '70's; your average NW Tribal group, or the
Bonneville Power Administration?

Here's another question; Has the Boldt Decision
(http://www.propertyrightsresearch.or...t_decision.htm)
enhanced or hindered Salmon conservation?

Here's yet another.......doesn't it get kind of stuffy in there?

Gee usually the Indian is blamed on the low fish count. Could it be that
you would like to shoot them too?

I'm afraid we only have ourselves to blame for the low fish count, but you
know there is a natural fluctuation too.

Chinook fish counts on the Columbia River are down 1/2 to 2/3rds.

And the big debate in these parts is over shooting sea lions that have
taken to hanging out in the fish ladders at the dams.....

Who are you asking if they'd like to shoot something?

See, I'd have thought it was the other way around.

pesky english language again.

Ah, an interesting question at last! (Interesting, not least because it is
your first thus far in this exchange that could be mistaken [by the casual
reader, at any rate] for a real question. And, since you've taken the
trouble to pretend that it is such, I will reciprocate by pretending to
treat it as such.)

Well, the answer is kind of complicated......I mean, it depends, in part, on
what you mean by "this." You see, I wrote my share of the above included
text on two separate occasions.....separated by just about 24 hours, as a
matter of fact. So, what it boils down to is a question of whether you were
referring to ALL of "this", just the last day's fraction, or even, perhaps,
the first day's. Then again, I suppose it might have been just the last
line, as well.

What's more, the issue is further knotted by a consideration of just what
"drunk" means in this particular context. Clinical studies have
demonstrated conclusively (time and again) that the ingestion of even a very
small quantity of ethanol has almost instantaneous and easily demonstrable
physiological and psychotropic effects. Thus, a small glass of orange juice
or apple cider that had been left in the refrigerator for a day or two too
long......hell, even half a slice of a good fresh yeasty bread.....could
force me to plead guilty. As it happens, I had neither "mature" fruit
juices nor (sad to say!) any really fresh bread within the several hours
preceding either of my previous submissions in the delightful tete a tete.
So, it would appear that I am off the hook on this one. "But, hold on there
Einstein," I hear you say, "there are other ways to get drunk, ya know!" To
be sure. Just breathing the air near some of the folks I used to encounter
on the Lac du Flambeau res back in the 70s and 80s would do it.......or out
behind the Baptist church in East Point Georgia on a Sunday morning......or
on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic in about ''71.....or in the slammer
a couple of years later.....or......well, you get the picture. Anyway, that
didn't happen either.

Now, I DID happen to have a bit of red wine yesterday, and a couple of
bottles of DAB the day before. So, at last, it appears that we are on the
right track!

In light of all this, it is inescapably clear tha........um.......well,
****......uh......um......

Hang on for a second while I go open another bo
