Hey all, I just wanted to get everyones input on the brand of jig they
throw and why? I throw Strike King pro model jigs, I mainly went with them because they were designed by Denny Brauer, and I kind of idolize him. One issue I have with the Pro Model Elite jig is the double chamber rattle comes off very easily. Every single jig I have used, I have lost the rattle on after about 10 or 12 pitches. Wether it is getting caught in rocks, or whatever, I think this is pretty low quality. Another type of jig that I use, and really love is the All-Terrain tackle swim jig. Very awesome head design, and it slips through cover very nice. I love the hook on the pro-model elite, also the brush guard is great, and with a little cosmetic surgery the skirts perform. One other little issue, that isn't quite so important is the paint on the head chips pretty easy. Then again I put those jigs through hell and back. (Who doesn't if they are fishing them right :-) ). Thanks for your input guys! Chris If anyone wants to do a brand swap just email me and I will send a couple of what I use if you do the same. (just drop the obvious to email me) |

I was using Strike King Bitsy Bugs but I have started buying Cobra Jigs
from Jann's Netcraft, I glue in the weed guard, paint them with finger nail polish and add the skirts.. They work pretty good and are economical... |

Best I've ever seen or used is Terry Oldham's "EyeMax" jig.

Hey all, I just wanted to get everyones input on the brand of jig they throw and why? If you can get a friend, or foe for that matter, to bet his hair in a fishing duel. Be sure to win. The hair ties many fine jigs and nothing can compare to the feeling of landing a bass with your friends hair. Trust me on this. You will fish these with such meticulous skill, because you really want to catch a bass on them, that it will make you a better jig fisherman. I have been using hand tied jigs from my local mom/pop bait store. Dave V |

I have to tell you I have caught more fish on Texas craw than Black/Blue, but our water goes from 4ft to 2" vis regularly. I just haven't run into enough instances where I feel confident the fish could see black/blue better than texas craw. I always have a black/blue tied on though, usually in a smaller size. It is a great changeup :-). Chris |
