Let's see, I've had a few outings this season with the first one at
Cataract in April having warm weather, 60 degree water, a lot of fish and a good weigh-in. The next two at Patoka and Brookville have severe cold fronts right before the tourney, 30+ winds, 30 degree temps, 54 degree water and no fish (at least for me) and the worst-ever weigh-in for a Top8 since I have been fishing. Last week we have another great day with a lot of prespawn fish weighed in and 64 degree water at Monroe. Today I go out to Morse and the water is still cold at 60 degrees and I catch fish anywhere from 1' of water to 15 feet of water. I have yet to find a bedding fish and the spawn is usually in full swing here in central Indiana by now. I guess that's spring. Brad |

Would assume from the names that you are in Indiana?

Yep, right here in central Indiana. Not a hotbed of fishing, but we
have some decent lakes. Brad |

I think its starting to pick up -
I can only bank fish and wade but in the last 2 week (other than yesterday - right after the storms w/ the river up) ... I've been regularly catching legal "river" legnth smallies in the white river ... It seems like it has been a cold spring though. And I think there are plent of excellent (if smaller) lakes ... IF YOU HAVE A BOAT ... but that's where the new waders come in ... the river smallies may not be huge ... but they sure are fun on an ultra-light rig ... Good luck on the top 8's .... I used to spend a lot of time fishing the White River up in Muncie.
There are quite a few nice smallies and largemouths up there. I've had a few fish in the past that were in the 5 lb. class, not bad for the river. Brad |

Fishing here in Chicago land has been horrid. Well at least for me and most
I've run into on the water. Sat. a.m. was on Cal River near Lake Mich ran into several guys who all agreed was worst spring time fishing in recent memory. We had 8 or 9 keepers but had to work our cans off for em. -- God Bless America Josh The Bad Bear |
