Hey Rich,
I was wondering if Mudge is public and if so can you launch a bass boat
there?

Thanks,
Phil

It's got a state ramp on it. However:

The ramp is extremely shallow, especially this time of year, when the lake
is up. You have to back the truck a long way into the water to get to the
drop-off and actually get the boat wet.

It's got a 7.5hp and 6mph limit. to be completely legal, you're supposed to
take the prop off the big motor and leave it tilted up so the propshaft is
visible.

That having been said, I put my boat in there all the time. Sometimes I
take the prop off and sometimes I don't. I never start the engine, but I
don't leave the motor tilted up, because my boat is impossible to control
without its 'rudder' effect. Most of the big boats that do launch there do
leave the motor trimmed up.

Should add that you're welcome to join me there in the little boat. I'm
going elsewhere this weekend, but will probably hit Mudge again next
weekend.

Thanks for the info Rich. After seeing the fish you got there how could I
pass up that invitation!! Just let me know the time and I'll be there. I
also might need some directions to the launch.

Thanks again,
Phil

Hi Rich,
Sunday looks fine for me. Just let me know what time and possibly an easy
way to get to the ramp and I'll be there.

Phil

Where is it most convenient for you to pick up 22? (so I know which way to
lead you in to the ramp)
