Fishing at night near an overpass in Wisconsin where these huge
spiders lived. As the lantern got dimmer, a couple of big spiders moved toward our gear. I'm normally not bothered by such things, but this freaked me out a little and I packed it in. Anyone have any tips to keep these uglies away? m. |

What ever you do. Don't taunt them!!! Just kidding. they are 'mostly'
harmless unless you are a tasty little bug or fly. They were most likely attracted to the bugs that were probably buzzing around your lantern. Next time toss a worm or night crawler to them to see if they would eat it. I had a pet tarantula when I was a kid and it loved earthworms and night crawlers. |
