Default Mortensaften

Last Night was "Mortensaften" (Saint Martins' Evening) in Denmark. Kelly do
you
celebrate it in Norway and Sweden?

It has been celebrated in Denmark since the Middle Ages,

The legend says that St. Martin of Tours hid in a goose-sty, because he
didn't want
to be elected bishop. The geese started gaggling and making noise, and
Martin was pulled out and forced to become a bishop. He used his new dignity
to decrete a punishment on the irritating geese. They should be killed and
eaten every year on 10 November.
