Ya know, some folks have suggested that I wear a helmet whilst fishing.
If that happened to me, I'd wear a helmet and hockey goalie pads.

Now, why would you find that amazing? Hell, that happens pretty much
every time I fish...usually about 3 feet beyond my casting distance.

(BTW, what the hell WAS that??! Without speaking Portugese, all I can
figure is that some smaller baitfish must get driven into the bay by
some feeding predators, and the lights and noises gets the predatory
fish running all around, which gets the baitfish jumping like crazy.
Anyone know more?)

Actually, I'm thinking they are silver carp which are known to jump
from the water to avoid predators. The noise of the boat is enough to
elicit this behavior. These fish are also spreading on the Missouri
River with the same effect.
