Default 8 weight 3-4 piece?

Anybody make a good 8-9 weight in a 3 or 4 piece? thinking of a trip to
Costa Rica, and since it will be a lot of sight seeing travel involved,
would like a shorter rod to pack around.

Check out the combo packages from Cabela's for travel rods. Pretty
good quality for the price and they come with a pretty nice case to
protect both the rod and reel:

Not too sure yet what I think about it (I haven't even strung it yet, let
alone casted it), but it seems like a good bigger fish rod.
