Take a microwave to the bank with you and just before putting on the hook,

Try mixing some glyecrine into it.

It's been a very long time since I made up and used cheese past but the mix I use to make up was Brie and Danish Blue. Not the easiest to make up as it's a soft and sticky mess when warm, but after putting in the fridge for a while it was firmer but still pliable when cold.
