Don't get me wrong - I know that Jon C is the 'meister. I have a few
suggestions for flies and other stuff if anyone's interested. I'll have my boat and Bevin and I can take interested folks on floats. We'll all hopefully spend a day on the Animas (no boat) conditions permitting. Flies for the San Juan: Eggs, Worms, Bunny leeches, foam back emergers, larva, and bright stuff. The water is definitely off color but fishing has been pretty good so far. Flies for the Animas: Small nymphs, larva, streamers. Bring warm clothes. Bring Fiber (there's not much available in the fine establishments at Navajo Dam). I am really looking forward to it and have been tying as many flies as time permits. See you all soon. bruce h |

Dang! SJ2006 is less than 2 weeks away! I better get with it...no flies tied
yet. I'm bringing an 8wt and some 1x tippet for the Texas Hole this year. Has anyone set a day or days for visiting the Animas? Danl "bruiser" wrote in message ups.com... We just got a kick out of watching your T-shirt stash dwindle. Besides, you are now famous for leaving a shirt, or part thereof, on nearly every stream you have ever fished. Talk about leaving your mark; even if it is a skid...... . g Warren |

Warren! Hello! Nice to see you around here.
Danl - Saturday is probably the most crowded on the Juan so that's probably the best day to visit the Animas. Jon - Big Eggs are working great. And I've also been trying for carp in a stream by my house - with no success. bruce h |

Hey Kevin, how have you been? Long time no see or hear.... Coming out
this year? Weather is looking pretty good and should make for another good water year. All the local drainages are over 100% snowpack as of right now. Other than that, it's the same old, same old out here. You know the routine; work, work, work, fish a little and then work some more. Jeff - I'll be sure to supply you with GPS coordinates for all the nearby porto-potties, rest stop facilities and fishing access site toilets. Perhaps you should try using them with the provided paper instead of using streamside vegetation and your shirts. As far as hangovers go, you have to go out and booze it up to get one and I did not. Spent a nice, quiet night at home. Bruce - Good luck at the SJ. Wish I could make it back there. Perhaps next year. Been using your raft down there much? And who the hell is the Danl character? I can see that the membership around here has significantly declined since my departure..... bseg Warren |

Hey Warren, the raft is better for the Madison, but I've only been to
the San Juan once without it since I got it. We're slowly figuring out the fishing with the boat but very slowly! Your instructions made it much easier for me to learn to manuever the boat when I got it. I haven't rowed anything as tough as the Blackfoot since I got my boat, that's for sure! Hope to see you next summer and maybe you can just kick back and fish for a change. bruce h |
