Hello everybody,
I am new to the group so sorry in advance if this question has been asked over and over, but hopefully my question is unique. I currently own an Abu Garcia Cardinal 504 spinning reel and mostly fish for Bass and Crappie in lakes. I am thinking about getting a second reel (with the idea of getting a third down the road). I was thinking about getting a nicer spinning reel (around $200 max) now and later in the year or next year getting a baitcasting reel. I was wondering if you guys recommend one over the other for the type of fishing I am doing. Also I would like to avoid ending up with three reels that retrieve at the same speed, with the same power etc. That said, do you recommend buying the spinning reel with a low gear ratio and a baitcasting reel with a high gear ratio or vicea versrsa (or does it even matter)? My idea was to end up with three setups that can be used in different conditions. Good Idea? Finally, I currently live in IN and am soon moving to CO. Anything I should consider for the change in the type of fishing I might be doing in the future? Sorry for asking so many questions, hopefully if a few people each take on a couple of them eventually they will all be answered. Thanks for the advice guys, Tyler |

Tyler, I would first check out the types of fish that are native to say
within a couple of hours drive of where you are moving to. You might be surprised at what you will be fishing for. Then simply adjust your tackle to suit the majortiy of fish that inhabit that region. -- ______________________________ Dave Norton Custom Trim & Millwork Millennium Custom Fishing Rods "T" wrote in message ps.com...
