you'd best make reservations somewhere if you're serious about it. i've
been pitching it to him for months. he just growls...rarely have i known
him to plan anything more than a week or two in advance. that area of
montana, and yellowstone, ain't too conversant with last minute
reservations. course, given the good fortune and damnable luck you boys
enjoy, you could probably just show up and find the best and cheapest
lodging available.

well, i don't think they would be happy with his response to "we don't
have any rooms..." it is remarkable how quickly the sound of a 12 gauge
browning, shucked just once, can make a man remember a vacancy...

seriously, i think we will be squared away during the next week.

Right, then. Let us dispense with the formalities and get to the bottom lines:

1. If you go fishing with him - or not - best to bring a fresh bottle of
Ibuprophen.

2. Do not let him fish with your rod. He'll either kill it daid, or fish with
it all day. Either way, you'll be a spectator.

3. If Jim gets in front of you on the stream, you're *already* a spectator.

4. Ever flyfished on the run? Literally?

McIntosh offers--have enjoyed a few 'experiences" with Jim but best
remember running up Snowbird Creek { a pretty steep hill } for twenty
minutes to get in front of him so I would not disturb his fishing area.
Then I realized that my rod was still on roof of van .

If there is an interest I can gather some bugs together for the
Claver's. Let me know and I will set up some suggested flies for the
