![]() Dave LaCourse wrote: When have I smeared anyone except the two biggest assholes on roff - Barnard and Wolfgang? Ok, I will bite on this one. In previous disagreements and at various times you have attacked me personally rather than the issues. I am not going to sit here and tell you I am without sin in those exchanges but that is not the question you asked. You have placed yourself at times in a holier than thou status on your fishing skill and your position in life. I wanted to consider you a *friend* and to a certain extent someone to emulate in terms of life style as I begin to wind down the last 15 years of my career and start to enjoy the fruits of my labor. I was the one you allowed to post to ROFF that your cancer scare was a false alarm during your hiatus and we had a long but civil disagreement via email on Kerry. Neither of us changed anyone's mind but we kept it civil. And we've both had good laughs over my misadventures that night with a mouse pattern. My waist size and my inability to cast a #4 mouse with a four weight line inadvertently place on a six weight rod is no more indicative of my knowledge of anything than is the size of your investment portfolio, your cancer surviorship, and your ability to vacum fish out of the Rapid River using your nymphing techniques. At the same time it pains me to see that any post by you will result in an almost immediate ****ing contest with certain people, one of which is a friend and fishing partner. Most of the time I've just learned to *mark thread as read* and move on. From my last bitter exchange between you and I plus the one between Mr. Church and myself I have decided it is just not worth it. If I will be able to continue that practice really remains to be seen. The fat liberal in the midwest. |

However I think YOU know other stuff you are not sharing in your posts, if you really do know that country. Like: Who exactly is Ms Armstrong? Landowner, yes. But she is also the lobbyist for Baker and Botts, a few other high-paying unsavory Texas feudalists, right? Think folks might be interested in their rap sheets? And hers? And come on now Dean, you also know who Whittington really is, if just by reputation. So, its an entirely different story if the VP shoots a notorious Republican, Whittington, fixer/bagman par excellence, while "hunting" on the ranch of a notorious high roller lobbyist ? And that is the story the lazy media are missing. Armstrong's a pretty effective lobbyist isn't she. But is it really all that wise for them to be doing business as usual with the Abramoff thing and all? Wonder who paid for the flite down to Corpus Christi? Do you think she is the conduit for the money that keeps the Federal auditors and lawyers in Rock Island, Illinois quiet about the Halliburton contracts? What do you think? Dave And then there is the Ambassadress. |

A long time ago your "fishing partner" personally insulted me, and he has continued since. I am merely giving back what I receive. For the longest time I didn't read his posts and I was a happy camper. But this attack dog friend of yours goes over the top too many times for me to stand still and not react. Willi has posted on it, with quotes. You can not get in a conversation with him without him eventually calling you something. Willi saw that and asked him to reconsider. As far as I know, I have not been abusive to anyone on roff except your friend and Barnard. I consider you a friend, even if your politics are on the dark side d;o), and I am sure we could share a *good* bottle of single malt after a fun day of fly fishing and talk politics witout getting at each other's throat. I could not do that with the two gentlemen mentioned above, at least not at this time. (Wanna bet I get flamed for this post? How about a 20 yo McCallan's?) d;o) |

In article . net, rw56 says... Here's your problem, Dave. You cannot separate the politics from the personal. You can't help yourself. You have to insult anyone who disagrees with you radical right-wing politics. All the apologies in the world won't change that. Switch "right" with "left" and you've just described yourself. - Ken Ya think? d;o) |

I don't think that *MacAllan's* has a 20 YO, and since their 21 YO now cost over 96.00 in the state I live, I haven't had the pleasure of it for some time. Fortunately, the 18 YO is still an affordable 56.00 per bottle last time I looked. http://www.themacallan.com/range/index.html Or do you stock up on the 18 YO and hold it for 2 years before opening? |
