Time is rapidly nearing for my annual burst of additions to my website
here are three RSS Feeds for the site, the top one for my fishing logs, the next for pages on the patterns I use on the waters I fish ... mainly spring creeks and some tailwaters I'd guess that I'll add 100 to 150 pages between now and November .... maybe one or two pages will interest one or two of you :-) http://www.kimshew.com/flyfish/rss.xml and http://www.kimshew.com/flyfish/patternrss.xml this next one will point to 'some' fly fishing content ... the header in a RSS Reader should make it easy to tell FF content from the rest of the curmudgeon gibberish http://www.kimshew.com/flyfish/imorss.xml Sorry, if this seems spamy ... the site makes no effort to produce income and exists only to entertain me and, maybe, sometimes, a few others |

Don't know if I even have an "RSS reader" (I use Firefox), and if I do, what I'd do with it. Still, looking at your site, I see that it has come along quite nicely. I like the fly boxes section. |

Still, looking at your site, I see that it has come along quite nicely. I like the fly boxes section. You probably see little "rss" or "xml" logos all over, especially news sites and blogs. It's a way for you to see what's new without going to the site and looking around. It can save a lot of surfing time, once you get the hang of it. in Firefox, click on Tools, then Extensions, then get more extensions on the Mozilla site search for Sage by name and install it you now have a nifty RSS reader ALT-S will open it in a sidebar go to my site on the page with the RSS links http://www.kimshew.com/rss.php click the little magnifying glass on SAGE and it will find all RSS feeds and list them add them ( you can add folders and organize these links just like other bookmarks ... they are in the 'Live Bookmarks' folder of your bookmarks ) Go to the NYT and Washington Post and NPR etc ( pick sites that interest you, of course ) and search for their RSS feeds ..add them and organize them now the really cool thing .... click on the line in Sage that says "Larry's Fly Patterns" and see what happens G .... it is automatically updated ... only the 15 most recent show and if I add a new page you will know it without a visit to my site, if it interests one click and you are on the correct page of the site !!! same for all your news feeds ... see only the headline and a line or two of text, without going to the site ... and it's automatically updated whenever that site is updated !!! the little YinYangy symbol in Sage updates all your feeds at once or you can update single ones like my patterns above. Nifty stuff btw ... RSS = Really Simple Syndication |

in Sage I suggest you click options and select
Show feel item list and show feed list toolbar the search box doesn't seem too helpful ... to me ... it runs a search at http://www.feedster.com/ and shows the resulting headlines ... |

Yeah, I do (NYT, etc.) but I generally just ignore them. I looked for a little RSS button on your site, and didn't see one..... thus the cry for help. g It can save a lot of surfing time, once you get the hang of it. in Firefox, click on Tools, then Extensions, then get more extensions on the Mozilla site search for Sage by name and install it you now have a nifty RSS reader rest of good info snipped Thanks. |
