The typical fine is $150, so it doesn't take too long until you are
way ahead of the game.

The point is, the rules are stupid and unreasonable. Only a product of
inbreeding follows every rule.

It just occurred to me. What with companies, universities and what not
doing Google searches now a dayz, it's just a matter of time before judges
are doin' the same from the bench.

I can just see 'ol Kennie Poo explainin' to his Honor that it was just a
matter of ignorance that, he (Kennie Poo Poacher)-- the epitome of the legal
citizen--neglected to purchase the proper huntin'/fishin' license. So the
good judge, an avid hunter and fisher himself, decides to check into 'ol
Kennie Poo's past. For heaven's sake, what's this thing called ROFF?

Op --lookin' forward to the sentencing phase of the trial--

Maybe that court will take judicial notice of all that full faith and
credit nonsense somewhere around Article 4 of the US Constitution
(pointed out for those unfamiliar...like "liberals" or Nader
voters...)...then again, maybe not...maybe you'll learn something apart
from Foxfire U's, um, high standards of matriculation...then again,
maybe not...IAC, there ya are...

The OP had point (regardless of the OP actually knowing that he did),
and not one that deserved dismissal as casually as it has been thus
far...

You mean that's a real person and not one of the guys on here who
wanted to stir up a little conversation?

Weird.

We've got an outsider troll. It's been a while.

Hey, I didn't even talk about your trip to the Beaverkill in 2003 with
the Long Island Fly Fishing Club.
I think you've probably found that folks here believe the current
licensing system is adequate to the task. If you have an alternative
instead of a rant (how much does it cost to take the boat out for a day
in comparison to a license?), I'd like to hear it. I've seen worse
systems (in Europe where most of the water is privately held), so I
believe the current system is fair, though not equitable. I find the
10-day out of state license to be the best bet as this gives me both
weekends on a week-long trip. Unfortunately, most states have a 2-3
day license and a 7 day license.
Secondarily, I would like to be able to get licenses on-line.
Pennsylvania is wonderful in this regard. In some states, you need to
go to the local city hall.
So, instead of trolling, would you care to posit a solution?

MORE!? You want MORE!? Hee, hee, hee.

Anonymous? Who's anonymous? Let's see......I personally know (as in face
to face encounters) Frank, Opus, Cyli, rw, and Wayne......and they know me.
And "flamed"? You think you've been FLAMED!? Not yet.......but it could
happen......wait for it.

Any of you special ed types who wants a piece of me, come and try

Why, you little......

If I was 45 years younger (and maybe a couple of feet shorter) my friends
would personally have to restrain me from following through on a plan to
travel across the country and......and......well, doing something just
dreadful!

Wolfgang
there, that should settle THAT!

I sweartagod I got the greatest imagination in the world. No, really!
Somehow (unbidden) the thought came into my head that you once said you
studied law somewhere at some time. DAMN, I crack me up!

Perhaps you missed my original post in the ensuing flame war, but I
did posit a solution.

The problem I identified is that non-residents are overcharged for a
few hours of fishing -- and inconvenienced -- by having to go to an
out-of-the-way place and buy a 3-day license and trout stamp. This
subsidizes the locals and generates full employment for clerks. Also,
if you get off the slab at 5:00 pm, you are unlikely to find a place
open to purchase a license for the evening hatch.

How about selling one-day catch-and-release stamps from a machine for
a buck or two (or even five) at the village hall? Together with your
out-of-state resident license (for which you paid a chunk), this would
be made legal and would do the job all around and be fair and
equitable.

Why should a fisherman who travels pay 10X as much for licenses as
Bubba, who fishes even more often?

Because Bubba pays state taxes, which subsidizes the F&G Dept.? Just a
guess.
