David J. Babineau will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetary
on Wednesday, June 28. DJ, as he was known to his family and friends,
was killed in Iraq while serving with the 101st Screaming Eagles
Airborne Division. DJ died outright; his two friends were captured,
tortured and beheaded.

DJ is my nephew, a decent kid who was doing what he always wanted to
do - serve his country. He leaves a wife, Rondi, and three kids. DJ
grew up in Springfield, Ma and graduated from the Science/Tech
Highschool. We will travel to Arlington next week to honor DJ and do
our best to comfort and help his wife and family.

I am truly held speechless when events such as your nephew's passing occur.
I know there isn't anything I could say to even begin to soothe your pain,
but my thoughts and condolences go out to you, and, your family,

Mike

Our family's deepest condolences to your and David's families. My daughter's
husband returns to Iraq this Fall. It is an unsettling time when we hear of
those who have given there lives to protect the freedoms we have come to
expect.

What's interesting is that dim as some folks here are, there is no
reason to suppose that any of them are so abysmally stupid as to be
unable to deal with this simple equation......or it's implications.
Or, am I being way too generous here? Everybody who fails to
understand what happens to a fire when you cut off the fuel supply step
right up and be counted.

Wolfgang
who, if he is evil, must be human......so sayeth the high priest of
violent death.

Your analogy, as stated, would be correct. However, as with most people who
are trying to prove an invalid point, you have ignored the truth of the
situation.

As any Californians/westerners can attest, even when you cut off the fuel, a
fire can "jump" and start again.

The fire, (fundamental Islamic terrorism), will always seek out fresh fuels.
And I believe 9/11 occurred before we were in Iraq and Afghanistan
"providing fuel"?
The "fire" in this case has a basic hatred for all things related to western
society and has categorically stated their goal to be the destruction of our
civilization. So the only way to remove the fuel would be???

You can try to make things simple, ( I know it's a necessity for you), but
this is far from a simple subject.

The proof will be in the pudding so to speak. I have no doubt we will have a
democratic president after the next election. That president will more or
less withdraw from the current conflicts. According to your premise all
terrorism should stop at that point. We'll see.

As for your insulting remarks at Dave's loss? Nothing........I just can't
find the right words.

My condolences Dave.

Try to ignore Wolfgang, he is a pitiful little excuse for a human.

Well, it took a while (hey, doesn't it always?) but you finally got

It was inevitable. Nevertheless, it appears that congratulations are
in order. Congratulations.

good god, do ANY of you people READ?!

The need to make this post, rather than just posting nothing at all, is
as inexplicable to me as Mike Connor's need to post whatever he did
after the death of George G.

There are times when feuds, and cleverness, and being able to read, and
even being right just don't matter....

After all the vicious personal insults and disgusting crap
Gehrke posted here Mike was certainly within his rights to
do a little cyber ****ing on old George's grave. It made
Mike look mean, small and petty but it's hard to be too
critical of him. Our little Wolfie, on the other hand, didn't
even know the young man he's disrespecting.

I don't wanna start another ****ing contest, but as discusting as
Gherke was, and in spite of his vicious and uncaring attacks on you
and family, he should be pitied more than scorned. George was sick,
but he was a human being. Any fights we have here on roff, any
insults and name calling are petty compared to real life I'd like to
think that if any one of us was sick and dying that all of roff would
rally for that person. It is no secret that I don't care for Steve or
Wolfgang, but if either died, I would mourn their death, not dance on
their grave.

I made my peace with George before he died. It felt good and I'm glad
I did it. Perhaps I'll get the same chance with Steve and Wolfgang.
