You actually think that this "liar, liar" defense of yours does something other than highlight the weakness your argument. Actually, it's not a defense.....and I don't think it does anything at all other than to provide just a small impetus to keep you and the rest swinging and twisting in the breeze. Sticks and stones tiny man. Yet more aphorisms! Amazing! Wolfgang who notes that windup toys just keep on getting more and more sophisticated with each passing year. |

![]() "Joe" wrote in message .net... snip ...explain why I posted the unemployment figures for the "hightech" west coast vs North Carolina. snip Well, just to poke the bear and keep this highly entertaining dust-up alive (aka stirring the ****) I'll point out that North Carolina's Research Triangle is every bit as much a "hightech mecca" as California's Silicon Valley or Oregon's Silicon Forest or Washington's whatever cutsie tech nickname they use for the Micro$oft HQ area. In each case those areas make up only a small portion of their respective states, are not the driving force of the state's economy, and do not make up anything approaching a majority of the workforce in their states. So a strong case can be made that the west coast is not materially more "hightech" than North Carolina. Bob Weinberger |

I don't remember saying that, but if you say so, it must be true. I believe I said something along the lines that if you did not have a million when you were 65 that you haven't planned your life very well. And, it takes no imagination for anyone to believe that your life is pure luck, bad at that, without much planning at all. Let's see..... you are studying for a master's degree, correct? And, when you get it, will you *then* be the highest paid janitor in North Cackelacky? How 'bout going on for a PhD in hamburgerology from McDonalds? Op --rw was right. you do try to stir up **** with each visit to ROFF!-- Well, I sure as hell didn't start this dumbass thread, which is what is stirring up the ****. If you weren't interested in dumbass threads, then you wouldn't have participated in a thread with the SUBJECT: For Joe, Ken J. and all *disinterested parties*, now would you have? Yeah, but it is so much fun seeing you spend your entire life, what there is of it, here on roff, bitching and moaning about something that someone said about you. Dave, you're just another moron to spank. I bet you'd like to spank me, but I'm not into that, Mark. Try, uh, welllll, you-know-who. I betcha he'd like it. d;o) |

So a strong case can be made that the west coast is not materially more "hightech" than North Carolina. Bob Weinberger I hate to contribute to extending this waste of electrons, but I think the point was "why post the west coast #s" if he thought that Opie was saying that he was the one living in the high-tech region. I don't personally think that where I live qualifies as a high-tech mecca. Someone said that it does? Silicon Valley, absolutely. Well, yeah, if you believe the rumors. You can't cross the street without running into a high-tech company there. Hm......maybe they should get a couple more streets. Where I live, there is really only one major high-tech company. Nary a one in my house.......but then, we've got lots of streets here in Curdistan. It's debatable, What's debatable? but I can't even get the two stooges to read a simple sentence let alone debate something more subtle. Mark and I haven't fared any better at getting them to read a simple sentence. What chance could you possibly have? And "stooges" is certainly the right term.......hell, one of them WROTE it and he STILL doesn't have any clue of what it says. ![]() EOT for me, I promise. Excellent! One less dumbass to contend with in one thread. I know, it ain't much, but a start is always at least that. Wolfgang of course, it'll always crop up again somewhere else. vigilance and tenacity remain the best defenses......well, that and a command of the language. |
