I that in prep for the winter chill, do you have a major termite
infestation, or have you finally gone mad?

(Might have gotten that here.... no claim to the original find)

Also, not too sure if it applies to houses.

Prep for winter or something in case the fires get down to it?

Often taunted by trout. Almost entirely harmless. Really.

Its a fire protective rap. The cabin on the West Boulder is considered
a historical landmark. It dates from 1913. The Jungle fire is 8 miles
up the canyon and isn't expected to get down that far but until a few
days ago I don't think they were so sure about the massive Derby
Mountain fire. It had burned right across the river from McLeod and
the Road Kill Cafe, but they opened up the West Boulder Road last
night. I interpret that as meaning they feel the danger is past or at
least being held in abeyance.

That's excellent. I'm reminded of the quip, that every day spent
fishing G*d does not count against our time.

The situation on the West Boulder has deteriorated rapidly. When we
got home from the U.P. tonight I checked the Inciweb (The Jungle
Wildland Fire). It basically blew up today and is only a mile or so
from the cabin.

http://www.inciweb.org/incident/news/article/470/2851/

I'm hoping for a miracle but unless something happens to change the
forecast for tomorrow I'm preparing myself mentally for very bad news
tomorrow. The cabin is almost 100 years old. It is a shock to realize
that we very well may have been some of its last inhabitants.

In more bad news the fire is making its way over the mountains and is
definitely a threat to the Falls Creek campground, where we spent our
last few days of our trip. Heartbreaking.
