There should be a horsepower rating plate on the boat somewhere that tells you the maximum horsepower allowed on the boat. What size motor?
There's no advantage from getting one bigger than the rating tag says.
I spoke to a man at Bass Hunter boats recently who told me that people that get bigger outboards are almost always disappointed with the result. I got a 55 pound Minn Kota electric for my Bass Hunter EX, and found that it doesn't go any faster than it would with a 30 pound. I called Minn Kota, and they told me that a properly set up trolling motor will move a boat at about 5 mph, and that more power could push more boat, but not push any faster. So, I'm wasting battery for no advantage. I think I'll sell it on eBay soon and get a 30 pound. I hope this helps. John

I would try two high performance oars LOL, A strong thrust trolling
motor would be just fine.

One of the reasons that the fishing is insanely good, is that there's very little intelligent or sophisticated pressure, due to the boating regulations. Rowboats only. Not even electric motors. Anyway, they use the tricked out, super thin blade, cupped oars that the sculling guys use for racing. They can row over 7 mph. And these are guys that are in their 60s!
