Once again ESPN proves that quantity doesn't always equa quality. Does
anyone else feel llike me? I thought the coverage was disjointed and lacked
significan't "on water" coverage. And who the heck is Mary Deglado anyway?
If they wanted participation from the fairer sex why didn't they get someone
from the women's circuit who missed the cut. Someone who would know the
difference between a spining reel and a baitcaster. But Mary isn't my real
beef, she's just another human being trying to kill lunch.

I thought there was to much in studio banter and special time fillers than
there was actual coverage of what was going on on the water. For instance .
.. . Mark Sanders to Zona for the 800 millionth time "Do you think Ike will
ever get over this incident?" (refering to last year disqualification).
Well . . . NO if you mornons show it every twenty min or show it every time
you cut to him on the water ! ! ! ! I like both of the commentators so this
was really not thier fault. This was bad producing in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong, I'm from the generation who was happy to hear the
winners even mentioned on sports center years ago, so I'm happy to see
coverage at all. I'm just of the opinion that while there was a ton of
coverage it was pretty lousy over all. Scale of one to ten I'd rate it at
best a 5. Do let me know how you guys feel and rate the coverage over all.
And before I get lost in this opinion I thought it was great classic and
loved the outcome. Couldn't make for better potential... oh yeah one last
beef.. what ever happened to those good ole Ray Scott weigh in shows ? The
current guy looks like he fell off a bar stool onto one of the espn
producers (I was going to say espn producer's sisters but that would have
been crass. Weigh in coverage was a 2 for me.

I tried a search on Delgado and she is apparently either Velvick's wife,
fiancee and/or housemate and allegedly will try professional fishing.

With the emergence of the new "Idiot of BASS Fishing", G-Man Swindle, I
think Ike will get over it just fine. Talk about an "Ike wannabe", Swindle
should have been disqualified for several events at the least. Ike acted
like a jerk last year when he tore the mast off his boat and tossed it in
the water along with the flag, but at least he didn't endanger the lives of
felloe fisherman and spectators like G-Idiot did. Then he had the balls to
claim that he lives in the fast lane and where he comes from this was just
hard competativeness. But alas, the sponsors must have bitch slapped him
into reality and then came the "heart-felt" teary eyed apology on national
TV. Ike lost some sponsors over his rantings, hopefully G-Punkman will too!

I went to the weigh-in on the second day of the Classic and saw in
person Gerald Swindle's "weigh-in". If he had been disqualified then
why did he even show up and weigh his fish? After his little speech
he had the folks in the audience eating out of his hands. The next
day at one of his sponsor's booth he was holding court with an
autograph line longer than I saw for anyone. I guess the Alabama
folks like their home boy no matter what.

Like NBA and NFL fans. Our guy can get into gun fights at stip clubs, but
your guy can't. Seems like NASCAR is the only sport that hits you hard when
you break the rules...star or no star
