Default Orvis: Sure Isn't The Outfit It Once Was

Hi,

Maybe I'm dating myself as I'm in my 70's now, but, boy, Orvis sure doesn't
seem to be the outfit it once was.

Tried on the web to get some catalogs about six weeks ago so I could use a
gift cert. I got as a present.
Never came.

So, I called the phone number, and got a very nice lady who promised they
would go out immediately. That was over two weeks ago.

So, all in all, I've been trying to get some of their catalogs for close to
two months now.

In the "old" days" the catalogs requested always showed up in about a week;
sometime only a few days.

What's happened to them ?
Have they farmed out all their mail distributions and customer service to
India, or somewhere ?

Really annoying, as I want to use up the gift cert.

They could sure learn a lot from L. L. Bean, who handles this sort of thing
just great.

Anyone know an e-mail address for the Perkins Jr. who is running the show
now, by any chance ? Or some VP who might take this seriously ?

Thanks,
Bob

Unless you need a pair of pink courdurouys, a $700.00 t-shirt, or a $500.00
xmas ornament, I would avoid orvis

Juliana Rowe [Orvis]: I would be happy to assist you with this, Tim. Please
accept my sincerest apologies that you have not received the catalogs
requested.

Juliana Rowe: If I may please have your full address and last name, I will
personally have the catalogs sent right away.
Tim: It's not me, but another poster on a newsgroup. I'd like to post your
response, if that's okay. What should I tell him?

Juliana Rowe: If he either comes into chat or emails, at
, with his full address and the catalogs that he
would like to receive, we will have them sent right away. It is possible
that when he requested them previously, the address was entered incorrectly
or that they were held at the post office for some reason.

Juliana Rowe: Customer service is very important to us and we would like to
take care of this matter.

Tim: Thanks, Juliana. I've always received great service from Orvis, so I'll
let him know to give it another shot.

Hi Denis - I hope all is well. They're asking about you over at ASC. . .

That is what makes this place beautiful.
Thanks, Tim.

As far as catalogs, I get one from Orvis practically every month.
With Christmas coming, I'm expecting at least three, maybe four.

I sent them an e-mail a year or so ago, telling them what lousy service
I got in the Lake George outlet store. I signed it with my name & home
town. The next day I had a message on my machine to please call them
back at corporate in Manchester, VT. I did & they were very
apologetic, wanted to shower me with coupons & gift certs. "No thanks,
just have somebody wait on me next time I come in." They do. I don't
buy a lot of stuff there. They mostly have expensive clothing for the
tourists.
