Default tasteless background music....?

Calling the coroner's office today, I was placed on hold with Jingle Bells
playing in the background......

I would have thought an old Ralph Stanley number would have been more
appropriate...

bah......humbug.......

How about Gathering Flowers for the Mater's Bouquet, with Carter singin'
lead on that one. Or if one was truly bent on playing Christmas music,
maybe O Beautiful Star of Bethlehem would have been a little more
appropriate, with Ralph singin'.

Snakefiddler- thinkin O death would be just a little harsh

Yeah - or Wreck on the Highway by Roy, or by Townes Van Zandt.

"detour, there's a muddy road ahead, detour,
pay no mind to what i said, detour..."

yeah, that high lonesome sound, borrowed from bill monroe, was the first
of my musical memories, just after the end of ww2. i remember listening to
babe ruth growl his thanks through a cancer filled, alchohol racked body, in
yankee stadium, out into a better medium than the internet will ever be...
and then, later that evening, in the big house in gold hill, nc, hearing
ernest tubb defy that bitch by singing "walking the floor over you..."

oh, hell, how could i forget tex ritter, with "deck of cards"...

The background music I'm tired of hearing is "Hail to the Chief." Or maybe
it's just the foreground.

If you're gonna ET into it, the only appropriate piece would be "Driving
Nails in my Coffin."
