Joe,

Whos email address are you looking for, Jeff's or mine?
The clave will be held August 2 - August 10.
The cost once arrived in Umea, northern Sweden, will be around US$ 350 +
food.
(On the other hand, food you will have to eat whereever you are.)
Included in that price is the cabin, helicopter, gas for the trip from Umea
and fishing permit.
The best way to find my address is to look at my web page under contact
info.
Jeff's address I don't have.

sorry, the UBC game is on at the same time as the state championship class 4A
High School football televised on Fox Sports Net. Never can figure out why the
NFL schedules games in direct competition with high school championship games.
The high school games are much better, but then they don't have a salary cap.
In the game that was just played in the Alamodome, Katy won by one point.

So Rog, are you saying that if a person can get to Umea - on the assigned or
agreed upon date - you natives would be able to pick them up at the station
or airport or wherever and get them to the helicopter?

What kind of helicopter about we talking about? One of those Russian models?
I'm scared to death of bears, bears eat you before you are dead. Number two
on my list is helicopters....it must be a big one to haul all of those
fisherman or make repeated trips. I suppose the idea of hauling in a couple
cases of beer is out of the question.... Looks like martini time.

The way I am reading things, you would buy all of the food and a person
would pay for his or her share of the food upon arrival? . . . What's the
coffee situation? In particular, how will the coffee be made? For camping or
non-electric situations I have a drip type outfit, I can't stand perked
coffee although some old farts have developed a taste for it.....

nope...but i did add an anti-spam/virus feature by the isp. perhaps the
fbi is investigating all of those virus coming from wilmington? i've
been receiving some e-mail from you, the bear was the last one.

anyway, i think roger said it starts august 2. the sweden trip is on my
planning list, but too far off to confirm. my schedule is often
controlled by others.

when i made the "test-run, float-the-idea, flinch, and run for cover"
mention to rachel, she chuckled, then puffed up and reminded me that one
of the reasons she's never gone to paris was my refusal to fly/fear of
flying across the atlantic... so, i'm gonna need to think of some more
good excuses...uh, reasons... to explain why i can't abide travel to
paris (yuck!), but sweden's arctic circle would be ok.

flights will be the big cost item... someone posted info about cheap
flights from london to umea or stockholm. i've seen some incredibly
cheap tickets to england... perhaps we can cobble a trip from here to
england, then another over to sweden, and save some bucks.

i'm budgeting 2k, and starting to put away funds in my sock drawer...
hey, how did that get there??!!! might have to use a different drawer.

They use modern, state of the art, jet engine chopters in the US$ 1.000.000
class.

No, you can bring a case of beer if you want to.

No, we go shopping together in the last town on our way up to the mountains.

We cook our cofee over butane propane burners or open fire.

To save money, Roger has booked you on an "economy" Aeroflot Mi-2 flight
that is hauling old circus bears to be released into the wild. These bears
have been retrained and might be a bit aggressive, so just keep your
distance and don't touch Gregor's unicycle. (I have, however, heard that
old Mishka can mix a pretty mean martini).

I haven't seen any special prices for the dates mentioned....that's not to
say that there won't be specials at that time of the year next year.....but
I wouldn't count on it.

One suggestion along the lines of stuff that works for me is the following:
Book a week in Paris w/ Rachel for the week prior to the Lapland clave.
Enjoy the week & make it special for her; then put her on a plane home &
head for Sweden. She gets Paris, you only pay to cross the Atlantic once.
Might work.

Also, go to the Travelocity web site & sign up for their "fare watcher"
service. Pick a threshhold price for the airfare & it will email you when
the rates drop below that amount.

except i'd be in paris, france... is there a paris, sweden? i know
there's a paris, maine and a norway, maine...

besides, rachel informed me she has met someone on the internet and they
are planning a "clave" in paris, so i can fuk off.
