I found this site about Conneaut Creek on the net recently and would like to know if any of you have fished there. I grew up in Conneaut as a boy and caught nothing but bullhead and Gar in Conneaut Creek. That was 50+ years ago. I am glad to hear that it is stocked with trout and that it has Walleye, Muskie and Pike. I will be there this summer for my 50th high school reunion and will give it a try. A few years ago I saw a TV show where they were fishing for trout there with maggots! -- TL Ed (remove nospam to reply) |

People talk about the good old days of fishing, but overall things have improved considerably in the last fifty years. When I was growing up in the Midwest, the streams and rivers had big piles of suds below any stretch of water that had current and Lake Erie was pronounce dead with pronouncements of the other Great Lakes to follow. Now some of those streams and river hold populations of game fish and the Great Lakes are VERY productive fisheries. Willi |

Willi,
Yes, back in the late 40's and early 50's I remember catching a lot of Yellow Perch and White Bass in Lake Erie, then it went downhill because of pollution. I remember when the Cuyuga (sp) river caught fire! Now they have cleaned it up and Conneaut is known as the Walleye capital of the world! -- TL Ed (remove nospam to reply) "Willi" wrote in message ... egildone wrote: http://www.flyfishingconnection.com/conneauterie.html I found this site about Conneaut Creek on the net recently and would like to know if any of you have fished there.
