There's a forest fire in the foothills west of me. From my deck, I can
watch the flames shooting up over the top of the nearest ridge. WE DON"T GET FOREST FIRES IN THE SPRING! March and April are usually wet months for us. Forest Fires happen in the heat and the dry of Summer. It's been in the 70's and I've waded wet the last couple of times out. It's more like Summer fishing with the low clear water, that's already warmed to ideal temperatures. Water should be rising and cold. The fishing is very good with lots of Olives and spooky, rising fish. But it's going to be a short season.......... Willi |

"Record high" seems like the most common thing for the weathermen, in the
West, to say the last couple years Last summer, nearly every day was a new record in the Eastern Idaho area. We have already set records many days this year here in Arnoldland. Being a fearful old curmudgeon, I'd actually be tempted to worry about global warming, but Commander Bush tells us it's just junk science, like evolution, and I know he and his oil industry friends want to protect us, more than anything else. Besides, with gas over $2.00/ gal Arnold isn't driving his eight Hummers as much as he used to, and that will reduce greenhouse gases ( in case it really matters ) ...so not to worry. |
