Brown bucktail over gold Krystal flash (8 to 10 strands) over sparse orange
bucktail. Doesn't look much like a Crawdad to us--but deadly on Browns and Smallmouth. Dave M "Frank Reid" moc.deepselbac@diersicnarf wrote in message ... Could anyone reccomend a easy to tye "Crawfish" Pattern?? Thanks! MIKE Wooly bugger. -- Frank Reid Reverse email to reply |

Barbell eyes for the eyes. I'll be damned if I remember what the tail is made of. I'll go look at one of mine. Joe F. |

Yes Steve--tied in at the head. I did fail to mention the 1/24 ox. brass
dumbbell eyes (can also use 1/36 oz).--so make sure to tie it upside down i.e. the orange bucktail is tied on top of the hook--which will become the underside when finished. Also--put the eyes back at the 1/3 on the shank--not jammed up against the eye of the hook. Dave M "Stephen Welsh" wrote in message .4... ... Could anyone reccomend a easy to tye "Crawfish" Pattern?? Thanks! MIKE I tied up a simple pattern a few years ago. Hook: Streamer Claws: Two bunches of red fox squirrel tail hair tied in at the bend. Weight: Lead wire or substitute. Rib: Copper wire Body: Brown dubbing Shell Back: Tan furry foam. You could use a piece of felt available at craft stores for this too. Colors can be altered to match the local specimen. I'll post a pic of the fly at a.b.p.f. |
