Default Gaula River, Norway...... pattern request

Greetings.
Has anyone on this list fished on the Gaula in Norway, if so would you be so
kind as to pass on the names of any patterns that worked for you, I will be
going there end June and would
like to try and tie some fly's to take with me.

regards,

Bob Mallet.

Have never fished it myself, but I know quite a few people who fish it
regularly. I was supposed to fish it twice, but never actually got there. I
discussed it a lot though! They practically all use Scandinavian type
tube flies for salmon, you can find some here;

http://www.fliegenfischer-forum.de/tuben1.html

10 cm long, orange or green Tubeflies (Temple Dogs)for June. Size 4 ...10
Treble flies such as Ally's Shrimp or Green Highlander for July and August.
The "Sunray shadow" is also popular.

For seatrout, single hook wet flies size 8 to 12 such as Mallard and
Claret, Butcher, or Zulu are always reliable it seems.

Here is some info on the Gaula itself;

Yes I have, in 1998 I think. While I did not catch anything, nor did
4/5 of our group, our !#%%&/ guide (sort of) caught a salmon every
freaking day. I think he caught them all with the same type of fly,
called Gaula Green Butt. You can find the description of the pattern
here in Finnish

http://www.fishmaster-finland.com/Perhomalleja.htm

but I can also translate them to make things easier for you :-)

tag: oval silver
tail: fluorescent antron
body: black silk
ribbing: oval silver
throat: yellow underneath, black on top
wing: black fox

I've seen them tied in both tubes and traditional hooks.

Tight lines, and let us know how your trip turned out to be.
