Anyone have a good use for that marabou looking fluff around the base
of smaller turkey feathers around the tail?

These are called either the aftershaft, or foreshaft feathers..can't
remember which. the fibers are so soft that they work well in leech
patterns.

Gills for nymphs like the stonefly. Or was it a dobsonfly? Anyway, I think
it was in a back issue of Fly Tyer (within the last couple of years) where I
read an article about this.
