Cyli,
Would you please re-post the URL for the campground that will be clave
central. I seem to have misplaced it.
Do we have a list of the attendees?
My plans are to arrive @ clave central mid-morning on the 18th and fish
until the 21st or 22nd. I'll stay at a Motel in Preston.

Thanks for bringing up the subject. I was about to post something
tonight, but would have forgotten to enter the URLs again.

No, we have no clue how many are attending. George Cleveland was a
yes the last I'd heard and Wolfgang and Ken were both possibles. If
anyone has become more definite, less definite, wants to come but
hadn't said anything before, now _is_ the time to speak. Well, post.
I don't think I live near enough to anyone to hear them speak.

Campground URL is:
http://www.prestonmn.org/ hit the clickable on the left that's about
tourism and then look down in the tiny print at the bottom for
campgrounds and then find Maple Springs Campground.

URL for map that part of the of state is:
http://www.maplespringscampground.com/map4a.jpg

For the locality is:
http://www.maplespringscampground.com/map2a.jpg

For the campground itself is:
http://www.maplespringscampground.com/map3a.jpg

The locality map is pretty simplified. If you're coming from the
west, it's on the left and down a hill, or if you find yourself at the
ranger station, you've gone too far. If you're coming from the east,
pass the ranger station and go on up the hill and look for a road down
and to your right.

Often taunted by trout.
Only a fool would refuse to believe in luck. Only a damn fool would rely on it.

Looks like I'm out. Becky totaled her car. We just found out that it
can't be fixed for what the insurance company is willing to pay. We
are now officially a one car family for a while.

Sorry to miss it.

Well since bad news travels in threes, I'll toss in the second helping
of misery and announce that I won't be able to make it either. Jacci
had to trade away this coming weekend, which she had off, in order to
get the weekend after Labor Day off, which contains the scheduled
wedding of her little sister. She's going to be the matron of honor or
the great poombah or some such fol-de-rol. I thought of bringing just
Mason and myself but then re-thougt it and decided the chances were
too great that I'd be saddled with a homesick little boy and one who
is not really into fishing more than 30 minutes at a crack. I'm very
sorry cyli, especially after getting your expectations up after you
initially thought I wasn't going to be able to make it anyway.

For what its worth, the news on the Wisconsin board is that the
Tricos are just starting up in that neck of the Minnesota woods.
Emergence at about 8am, spinner fall about 11am. Beetles and ants
followed by an evening hatch of BWOs have been rounding out their day.

What are the plans for after the camping weekend?

George C.

W. - Sorry, this is off the thread, but had to respond. State Farm
offered me $2000 less than my loan payoff for my '01 Lumina last fall,
when I was T-boned by a pickup and the car totalled. I looked at every
web site I could find for valuation of the car and came up with an
average value nearer to the payoff, presented the data to the person
handling the case, and got all of my money. The moral - don't let them
tell you what THEY think your car is worth - you'll loose. Push it a
bit and you may come out better. Good Luck!

I just showed this to Becky. She nodded and said that she had already done
that very thing. She showed me the printouts of the valuations from three
different sites.....$470, $1500, and $3410.

You're right.......it pays to shop around.

Thanks.

Wolfgang
