Due to my proximity I am considering a day trip to champlain. Anyone have
any Co-ords. for good LM spots, as I have never fished this area before? I see many of you have fished there quite often. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks John C. French |

I've got roughly 650 GPS coordinates on Champlain John. Do you want them
all or just the very best ones? Warren ;-) "John C. French" wrote in message . .. Due to my proximity I am considering a day trip to champlain. Well, considering I'd like to make it a day trip, 650 waypoints are
a few too many, but heheh thanks for the offer. I would actually like some of the good ones, located within a few miles of each other. Preferably near what you consider to be the best launching area for Champlain. I live Northeast of Plattsburgh. I've been fishing since I was six, but only last year did I finally convince my wife I needed a boat. I usually fish Chateaugay Lake here in NY, and our local river, which empties into the St. Lawrence River on the Canadian side, which I also fish. I've pulled in 75 smallies this year, the biggest being 5-2 (Taken dig. pics of them all.) I have yet to catch a LM, and think Champlain will be my best local bet to do so. Any help anyone would like to contribute would be readily accepted. Thanks. John C. French "go-bassn" wrote in message ... I've got roughly 650 GPS coordinates on Champlain John. John,
If you're looking for LM, you don't need no steenking GPS co-ordinates. You need to fish every milfoil bed in more than 8 feet of water you can find within 3 miles either way of Ticonderoga. Or launch in South Bay, idle over to the nearest bed of water chestnut and pick up your flipping stick. Oh, wait. I see you are up Plattsburgh way. If you want to wait for September, the pilings from the old railroad bridge across the new York side of the lake just south of the border will be so thick with LM that you'll have to fight 'em off. But right now, it's probably thick with hammer handle sized pike. If you've got a map (and you really do need one to fish champlain), find Pelot's Bay and Carry Bay (North Hero Island, and the south end of Aulrurg Passage). The two referenced bays meet at Savage Point. That's really all you need to know. You'll catch plenty there. RichZ© www.richz.com/fishing |
