wrote: Hi, I just purchased the reel as described above which includes an extra spool. It's in good condition with minor wear. Don't know how old exactly. but I know they were made between 1977-1999. I paid about $136 for the kit. Does anyone know what the value range are of these approximately? Thanks, JT The Marquis was the Hardy workhorse for many years. I use them all the time for trout and, more importantly, I never use anything else for salmon. They're excellent but were never rare. I doubt if a new 6 weight reel and spool ever cost new more than what you paid. Lazarus -- Remover the rock from the email address |

I've seen a book ( the Dunkeld collection) that spills the beans and does it well apparently. JT Forget about collecting. Fish with it. That's what it was made for, and it'll do it beautifully.
