Default shipping costs

How do you calculate/estimate shipping costs on ebay purchases. I'm thinking of
heavier/bulkier items purchased.

Perhaps that would depend on which company shipped it, how it was shipped,
and the weight of the item. My guess in all cases would be call the company
being used to ship the item and ask. Seems easy enough. That information is
also probably available on their websites.

(Am I replying to Al?)

Also some of the people on ebay have a set price for shipping that is above
what the actual shipping cost is from any of the main 3 shippers (ups,
fedex, USPS).

e-mail the seller with your zip code and find out what the shipping cost will
be BEFORE you bid. Some will add a handling or packaging charge to the actual
shipping costs.
