Is it possible to convert a trolling motor from bow mount to transom mount?
I have a Minn Kota Endura 30 on a Pond Prowler (one of those rectangular plastic slab of a boat for two people). I find it very difficult to steer from the front, perhaps because the boat is so short, I dunno, so I was wondering if it could be mounted on the transom. I don't have an owner's manual...bought it used. Thanks. Keith |

Incidentally, everything I find on the internet about the Minn Kota Endura
30 says it is a transom mount. Mine is clearly not. I plan to call Minn Kota, but if anybody has any suggestions or info, I'd appreciate a reply. Thanks. |

My 2004 Cabela's catalog shows the Endura's being transom mounts, maybe
the head was reversed for bow mount use..which is a easy process. I fish therefore I lie |

It's much easier to drag a rope than it is to push one. I mean, you can try it, but I think you might be disappointed with the results. -- Steve OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |

I pushed my Bass Hunter with a 32lb Motorguide. Loved it.

I have a 33lb MK Maxxum transom mount on my square end canoe. I know you
can unbolt the head, spin it 180 degrees & convert it to bow mount. Any chance yours was a transom mount that someone turned the head around on? ....Jim "Charles B. It was a transom mount when I bought it new. I was just replying to Steves
post about pushing instead of pulling. -- Charles Summers Secret Weapon Lures http://www.secretweaponlures.com "Jim Howarth" wrote in message e.rogers.com... Even on water? That is where the boat will be used. The resistance is
actually the same. "Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers" wrote in message ... the back end! It's much easier to drag a rope than it is to push one. I mean, you can try it, but I think you might be disappointed with the results. |

The resistance is actually the same. It's not about the efficiency of movement, but about directional stability and control. But with light boats, regardless of which end you steer from the secret to making it easy to control is getting the other end in the water as deep as the end you are at. Otherwise, it tends to spin with the wind and slide instead of turning with the motor. RichZ© www.richz.com/fishing |

That explains why it was much easier to control with two people in the
boat.... One thing I did finally was to add a smaller motor in the front that I could use for keeping my position. It was just a little thing that I could set on low, and bump with my foot. I kinda miss that little boat. "RichZ" wrote in message ... Todd wrote: The resistance is actually the same. It's not about the efficiency of movement, but about directional stability and control.
