Default Tampa Question

I am heading to Tampa a week from Monday and I want to do some fishing. Is
there any good lakes in the Tampa area and if there can someone recommend a
guide?

Thanks,
Pat

Default Tampa Question

Lake Tarpon is a great lake.
Dont discount the small bodies of water like ponds/lakes at business
buildings, hotels, and communities they have some nice fish in them as well.

Hi Pat and the group, I don't get over to Tampa much myself but you
might want to check out the many lakes to the east of Tampa starting
around the Lakeland area. If you have the time, less the 1 hour drive
the Lakeland area might be worth checking out.

You might also get a kick out of trying some of the excellent salt
water fishing. I have heard the cockroach bay area (south side of
Tampa bay) can be good at times.

Hope this helps, DC

Default Tampa Question

Pat
I have fished Lake Tarpon - used a guide I got in touch with from a local
bait/tackle shop. Tarpon Tommies up near Lake Tarpon. The guide's name was
Lenny, a good guy who really focused in on helping my 12 yr old hook land 4
nice bass. Good Ranger bass boat and an easy guy to talk to.

Might try them as a source.
Best wishes
Steve

Default Tampa Question

The Trout and Redfish are hitting pretty good in the upper end of
Tampa Bay, You don't need a boat or a guide to get to it. Just get a
bucket of shrimp find a bridge (any where off the bridges) and start
fishing.
