Hi all, (posted through google)

So, anyone still fishing? Or have you had to give up on this season?

/Roger

in spite of my heavy school load, i am still managing to get some fishing in
on the week-ends, and occasionally a day here and there during the week.
i've been doing a good amount of fishing off the mountain lately, in
addition to visiting my favorite stream here close to home. the last trout
i caught was a brookie- about 7 1/2 inches and that was up here on the
mountain in october. i've been catching crappie, bluegill sunfish and perch
lately -off the mountain

i'm gonna keep fishing until my hands or feet just can't take it- or the
water on my line freezes- whichever comes first ;-)

I hate to rub it in, but the weather has been beautiful in the Dallas area tha
past few days. As I was doing a little shopping this afternoon in my shorts and
sandals I stopped at a small city park and caught a few hand sized bluegill onm
y favorite 3 weight rod. It put me in a much better mood to fight the traffic
back to my house. Just a half hour like that every once in a while helps. I
think the high today was about 70 and the wind was just about 10 mph.

However, when the traffic gets worse I feel like killing something.(g)

Or until Kennie's and Rickie's fantasies rend the very fabric of the

Hi all, (posted through google)

Still no available news server from my ISP, it stopped working about
three months ago and never came back online again. No warning
whatsoever from the ISP.
Anyway, I get to read the occasional TR on ROFF but have noticed that
things are slowing down.

Here sunrise is at 9.30 am and sunset at 1.30 pm and still two
weeks until it starts to get brighter again. We will loose about
another hour of daylight in the two weeks to come. About minus 15
degrees Celsius (5 degrees Farenheit) but not much snow.

Long since I could do any fishing but hopefully everything turns out
in a way that I can go to Penns next year too, new job and all.

Done a lot of hunting this autumn (mostly Capercaillie, Black grouse
and Hazelhen) which helps keeping the cabin fever away. Even my kids
have started to complain that it's always dark outside, and there I
was thinking that they hadn't noticed from all the computer gaming
that they are up to.

So, anyone still fishing? Or have you had to give up on this season?

/Roger

The Adirondacks of NY have had a mild winter so far. Hunt the morning
through 11am fish until 1-2 then hunt until dark. Catch trout each time but
not shooting the gun...

Yep still get out now and then. Trying to get back to my routine of at
least a trout in every month. That may be a lofty goal this time of year,
but ya gotta have goals right??

Anyway, was up on Penn's last week with Bruce Fisher, caught 3 or 4 a piece
in a few hours. We actually hit a run of about a half hour at peak warmth
(2-2:30) where we caught 75 % of our fish, then had to work hard for the
last one. Temps above average, in the 50's, even saw a few caddis or two,
and one lonely rise.

Nothing huge, but caught a couple 16 inchers between us. They were quite
thin as compared to what you saw this May, but they were quite healthy .
Lost a few short strikes/head shakers, as usual. After several bouts of
extremely high water this late summer/early fall it's good to see there's
still plenty of fish around.

We fished the lower project water from Mike's Run up to R.B. Winter. Water
was pretty high, I'm guessing at least 3 feet above normal flow for this
time of year.

Cabin fever was setting in so it was good to get out, may get out again soon
have a couple of weeks off around the holidays.

The Finn
