Let the batteries in my Garmin hand-held go dead, and I mean dead. I put a
fresh set of batteries in and when I turned it on, it went through the initial setup (setting of country, city, time, etc.). I thought for sure all my waypoints would be deleted, as I frantically flipped through the pages. But much to my delight they were all present and accounted for. A happy man indeed! Now, I think I will write them down again, and put the list in our fire box for safe keeping. -- Craig Baugher |

I've had a Garmin 12 for several years. I added a car lighter adapter so I
could leave it on all day and not worry about batteries. I also picked up the MapSource Waterway & Lights software. It's $100, but it let's you save waypoints and routes, as well as plot routes on the map. My setup is not nearly as fancy as some of the newer rigs, but it sure works for me. -- Tight lines, Citizen Fisherman On 6-Mar-2004, "Craig Baugher" wrote: Let the batteries in my Garmin hand-held go dead, and I mean dead. Hey CF and anyone else who purchased the waterways cd,
Garmin put out a "service bulletin" at http://www.garmin.com/cartography/ma...WLservice.html Portions of the navigational aid data were found to have significant errors within sections of Coast Guard District Number 5, which encompasses New Jersey through South Carolina. The physical positions of the navigational aids appear to be correct. However, the details about each nav-aid have been mislabeled with incorrect information, including color, type, range, etc,. Garmin will provide the replacement data set at no additional charge upon return of affected product. Just an FYI if you happen to be in those areas ![]() Beverly www.lonestardepot.net Please remove (NO SPAM) in my email address when replying. "The Citizen Fisherman" wrote in message . .. There are sources for free software to just store and enter waypoints on your PC
for synchronizing. G7toWIN is one example. Dan The Citizen Fisherman wrote: I've had a Garmin 12 for several years.
