What happens to the fish during a Tsunami

Does anybody have any idea of what happens to the fish near where a
Tsunami starts? It seems that an underwater wave traveling a 600mph
must clear all of the fish it its path. Looking at the Tsunami
pictures on TV there doesn't seem to be huge numbers of fish washed
up on shore.

If you are thinking of deepwater fish, they will move up and down with
the waves. Unless there is a shockwave, they will be OK. Many fish that
are closer to shore get beached.

It is really a misnomer. The water isn't moving at that speed, the energy
or shockwave is.
