Default Nylon Thread Questions

I am looking for the following:

Lily Brand Nylon Thread size A on 400 yard spool #108 lgt scarlet. In Any
Qty!!! Other colors as well but the Red is what I want most.

Also

A machine where I can buy the large cones of thread and spool them myself. Im
sure there is a machine for this. I am having a hard time finding one.

As far as I am aware, this firm no longer exists. I have a couple of cones
of their black thread, ( well used, but there was in excess of twenty
thousand yards per spool originally!).

This chart may be of help to you.

http://www.fabrics.net/joanthreadchart.asp

For a long time, for re-spooling, I used the small metal sewing machine
bobbins,

Like these; http://www.sewserg.com/products/abc0127.html

and a Dremel. I used a ceramic rod tip ring whipped to a piece of dowel for
controlling the thread build up. The Dremel was mounted in a stand adjacent
to the large cone of thread, which was mounted on a small wooden table with
a shaft through it to a bearing. The bearing may be "braked" using a piece
of spring loaded dowel, on an adjustable screw. This is easy to make, and
works OK.

After seeing one of these at a friends house, I bought this machine a while
ago, and it is first class;

http://www.sewserg.com/products/abp01519.html ( "Corgi" Bobbin winder)

For 100$ you will have to spool a lot of tying thread to amortise it!

Here are some more, but I have not tried any of these;

( These links may not be up to date, I found most of them quite a while ago,
while looking for a machine winder).

Finally, nearly all modern sewing machines have a bobbin winder integrated,
or as an attachment. You might be able to pick up such a machine cheaply
somewhere.

This may also be of interest;

A search on "bobbin thread", and similar, will turn up many more. Although
you will be extremely lucky to find the Lily thread you are looking for.
