Default Sentator's Wash Fishing report

I rarely ever fish Senator's Wash, but I didn't feel like hitting the main
river. Of course I srted out last night discoveringmy starting motor
battery was dead. Fortunately I found that last night. This morning
however I managed to get the trolling motor prop stuck in the tailgate of my
truck. Not quyite enough space between the truck and the front of the
Whacko when making a tight U-turn. It snapped off one of the blades.
Dang.... Ah, the heck with it. I decide to just run it on low if I needed
it. I was going to tie off and cast over one of my hot striper spots
anyway. Off I went. I thumbed on the GPS, not that I need it on such a
small lake, but its gotten to be a habit. Then I reached over to thumb on
the sounder. Hmmm... The display looked like it had water between the
plastic and the LCD, and it wouldn't come on. I guess my Garmin 160 isn't
water proof. We have had rain, but not of my other stuff flaked like that.
Not event he cehap Eagole Cuda sounder ont he front of the boat. Oh, well.
I'm fishing. It was still better than working. I spent an hour moving and
tieing up to cover to fish my striper spot to no avail. Finally I broke
down and pulled out a crank bait to go bass hunting. With what seemed like
the whole boat going thump thump thump thump thump thump from that lopside
propellor I headed down one likely looking bank casting madly in every
direction. When I was about ready to conceded that the massive repetitive
shock wave my boat was emanating into the water was scaring off all the fish
I finally caught one. A small one but a keeper. I worked my way aorund
that area and pick up two more. One the same size, and one that went maybe
two pounds. Not bad for an hour's bassin'. Not wanting to destroy my
trolling motor I headed back in, only to find a nasty note from the
campground host on the windhsield of my truck. I forgot to put my ramp pass
on the dash. I had left it on the seat. Atleast it was a note and not a
ticket.

All in all it wasn't a bad outing for just a couple hours on the water. I
caught fish.
